The musical direction of the symphony is provided by David Rompré, choir director of the Orchester symphonique de Québec.

Holder of a master's degree from Laval University's School of Music, David Rompré has contributed to the vitality of vocal and choral music in the Quebec City region for over thirty years.
Since 2000, he has been the artistic and musical director of the choir Les Rhapsodes, and since 2003, he has directed the choir of the Orchester Symphonique de Québec.
A scholarship holder from the Canada Council for the Arts, David Rompré has followed several training courses with internationally renowned singers, as well as an internship in conducting at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
If he regularly directs great works of the classical repertoire, he has also ensured the creation of several works commissioned from contemporary composers. Several concerts conducted by David Rompré were broadcast on the airwaves of the Société Radio-Canada.
On the occasion of Quebec's 400th anniversary, David Rompré was entrusted with the preparation of the choirs for two of the greatest musical events ever presented in the capital, namely the presentation of Mahler's Symphonie des Mille with a choir of 800 voices. in front of more than 12,000 spectators and the interpretation for 70,000 spectators of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff on the Plains of Abraham, in both cases under the direction of Yoav Talmi.
Seduced by the initiative of the Basque cooperative Mondragon, the Quebec Council for Cooperation and Mutuality (CQCM) has shown itself to be sensitive to their objective: to create and distribute worldwide an anthem of cooperatives in order to strengthen the feeling of belonging that unites movement. Quebec will therefore host the French translation and production of this cooperative anthem.

Forty volunteers from across Quebec will take part in this musical piece which will be presented during the closing ceremony of RDV 2021.

We are looking for
We are looking for voices of men and women of all ranges. Here are some details regarding the musical needs for the room:
Soprano (12 persons): high range, between D (in the range) to the (additional line above the range). Partition requires easy and sustained ground.
Viola (12 people): from re (under the staff), to mi (4th space). The score includes divisi.
Tenors (8 people): from D (below the staff) to the ground (above the staff). The score is written in treble clef and fa. The tenor part has divisi.
Basses (8 people): in key of F, from C (2nd space) to E (2 additional lines above the staff). The bass part is best suited to the baritone range.

Rehearsals
The rehearsals will take place online, on Saturday morning, via the Zoom platform or in presence in Quebec (exact location to be determined, travel expenses reimbursed). Please note that for online rehearsals, you will not have to be present all morning, as each section will rehearse separately; we will give you your detailed schedule at the information meeting on March 5.
